Reconciliation Versus Separation

Reconciliation is God's plan to unite us with Himself, and to unite us with each other.

The enemy’s plan is separation and disunity, and to try and keep us from being reconciled and united with God and with each other.

Reconciliation is only possible if we confess and repent of our sin. We must also believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and as our Savior. It is the atoning work of the Lord Jesus on the cross that allows God to forgive us for our sins, and to credit us with His righteousness.

Confession can begin by sharing our problems, struggles and weaknesses with another person whom we trust. In this way people can learn to understand each other’s needs and burdens. If there are sins involved they can be identified and repented of. Confessions should be made to God, and to the people harmed by our sin. The next step is to use the methods outlined in Scripture to overcome sinful habits. An accountability partner is essential in this process for help and encouragement.
