Worry is interest paid on trouble before it is due.

That extra mile is never crowded.

A successful life is based on our positive response to the things that come onto our path. It is all about our reaction to the uncontrollable elements of life.

The biggest problem on the planet is people – humans! It is not the sun, moon or the stars. It is not the earth itself. It is not the plants and the animals. The problem is with people. Our behavior. Our attitude. That is what causes the wars, the bitterness, the resentment, the crime, and the destruction of the earth’s environment.

The whole point of life is to be humbled and broken. We need to be humbled and broken over and over again, because of our sin, pride and selfishness. It is only in brokenness and humility that we can begin to know God, and have a relationship with Him. The reason why God created us to have a relationship of love with Him. Love is humble and selfless. The whole purpose of living then, is to learn how to die to self, so we can love unselfishly just as God loves us.

God doesn’t want us to change our doctrines to agree with Scriptures. He wants us to change our character to be like Him.

Faith is having a direct encounter with God, and knowing what God has said and believing Him, and knowing what God wants you to do and doing it.

Why is it that we suddenly realize, through startled eyes how much we desperately need God when the trials and temptations arise? And then we come running to Him, like a frightened child flees to their parent for safety, support, help and love. So, why is it that we don’t understand why God allows these bad, terrible things into our lives? It’s strikingly obvious, isn’t it? Our mere reaction is why He plans these things.

If you find you have come to the end of the road, do not fear. After all, someone has to be first to make a path.

Worry is kind of a selfish thing. It’s that act of hording one’s problems to accomplish the task of solving them yourself, when God is completely willing, and actually more capable of doing so.

The things that we do not like are the very things that we need.

When the outlook is bad, try the ‘up look’.
